Penn Yan Public Library COVID-19 – Novel Coronavirus Statement Updated

For the health and safety of our community and given Yates County’s declaration of a state of emergency, Penn Yan Public Library will close to the public beginning Monday March 16th, 2020, and will remain closed until Penn Yan Central School District reopens.

Staff will continue to report on a limited basis during this emergency closure to perform essential duties and can be contacted at info@pypl.org or at 315-536-6114 between 9 pm and 3 pm M-F.

All library programs and meeting room bookings have been suspended. Library fines will not be levied during this period.  Delivery of materials from other libraries has been suspended until further notice. Holds on materials will not be able to be placed, and we will not be accepting book sale donations at this time.

This statement will be updated as needed and we are sorry for this inconvenience.

A special meeting of the voters of the Penn Yan Central School District will be held to consider a proposition to adopt the 2020 –2021 budget for the Penn Yan Public Library and to elect trustees of the Penn Yan Public Library on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, between the hours of 9 AM and 8 PM at the Penn Yan Public Library.
