There are two Board members running for reelection:

Kristen Flynn-Comstock has been a member of The Penn Yan Public Library Board of Trustees since 2005.  She is a Literacy Specialist for Hillside

Children's Center, Varick Campus, and a mother of two young children.   She

lives in Benton with her husband, Mark.  She says "The library is an integral part of our community and increasing accessibility for all is of the utmost importance.  I will continue to advocate for improved library service to the community."

Martha (Marty) Roberts, a Bellona area resident, was appointed to the Board in the spring of 2006.  She is completing her second term as Board President.  She is an attorney at Legal Assistance of the Finger Lakes (LAFL), a non-profit law firm, providing legal assistance to primarily low-income people in certain civil matters.  Marty has lived in the Finger Lakes area - Ithaca, Geneva and now Bellona - virtually her whole life and has always been a library user, for school, for work and for pleasure.  She is interested in continuing her service on the Board and working on the issues surrounding the building.  She says "Although the bond vote was a set back, the Board is applying for State funds and is exploring other funding sources to make the needed repairs, renovations, and upgrades to the library

so it remains one of the treasures of the area."
